This is the old medieval city centre of Javea where the Spanish authentic culture was preserved throughout the ages. Here you can wander through a maze of narrow streets and squares.
The gothic fortified church of San Bartolome dominates the centre of the old town.
This building is estimated to have been built in the 15th century. On the side of the church a beautiful neogotic building resides in which you can find the indoor market place. There you find all sorts of local products. The outdoor market takes place on every Thursday.
Originally a small fishing village, now the harbour has become one of the most important touristic places to be. Here, between modern buildings, you can spot the white houses of the fishermen, with many cafés, bars and restaurants. Taste the fish or local wine at the boulevard as you watch the Spanish boats slowly pass by.
From the heart of the harbour rises the majestic structure of the Church of Our Lady of Loreto with a roof that mimics the hull of a ship. The modern nauticul club at the marina offers facilities for all kinds of water sports.
